This way of preventing automated submissions is very used on the internet. More and more website owners start looking for a tool to prevent SPAM.
I too have to delete about 200 SPAM messages a week submited through the comments area in this articles. The bad thing is that, if you don't do something to stop this spammers, the number will increase each day.
A very good way of protecting your forms, and this is what we're going to talk about in this article is to use the following PHP
CAPTCHA class (I will keep the License intact for credits) which will force the visitor to do an Image Verification Test.
The form won't get submited until he (the visitor) will enter into a textbox the same string presented by the CAPTCHA script.

In this step we will work with our form. Ideally is that the audio CAPTCHA to follow the visual one in order for the visual captcha string to be already generated and present before calling the audio one.
